Is your state experiencing a drought this summer? Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Water Quality Division Director, Shellie Chard, took to social media this week to offer useful water conservation tips for weathering the summer heat. Pictured in a queen costume, “The Water Queen” shares advice including:
- Watering in the middle of the day wastes gallons of water due to evaporation! Remember to water early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid wasting water. See tweet here.
- #OurDroughtGoesMarchingOn We can’t #MakeItRain, but we can all do our part to help conserve water – check your house for leaks, refrain from washing vehicles, and turn off the tap while brushing your teeth. See tweet here.
